I’m Jen, the lead photographer at Photography From The Soul. Photography has always been about more than creating beautiful images for me. It is a way to connect with people, tell meaningful stories, and use the gifts I have been given to serve others.

Two years ago, I had the honour of travelling to Nicaragua, where I met some incredible people through an organization called Haven Heart. Their stories, kindness, and resilience left a lasting impact on me.

Since returning home, my family and I have been sponsoring three children by helping provide school supplies and monthly groceries. However, I quickly realized there are many more needs than we can meet on our own.

That is when I felt called to use my photography as a way to give back.

This summer and fall, Photography From The Soul is offering special mini sessions to raise funds for a beautiful family in Nicaragua. A young mother is raising three boys on her own: Eduardo and Ricardo, 3 year old twins, and their older brother.

Their current home is unsafe and slowly falling apart. The walls, roof, and floors are deteriorating, and they need a secure place to live.

The cost to build their new home is $7,000.

For these sessions, we are setting aside the business side of photography and using our cameras as a way to serve. Every dollar from every session will go directly toward this project.

The photos shared here are some of the images I captured two years ago when I visited the community where these boys and other families live. Seeing their reality firsthand changed my perspective, and I hope sharing their story inspires others to be part of this mission.
