What is One-For-One Essential Worker Gratitude Session ?
Inspired by Anastasia Chomlack (check out her Instagram, Facebook, or Website)
Every 1- Hour Family Session booked between now and April 30th will purchase an additional photo session for an essential front line worker of your choice and their family.
If you are just interested in purchasing a 1-Hour Family Session to donate to a front line worker, you can do that too! This also works if you do not know who to donate the complimentary photo session too, I can find a front worker who would be very appreciative of this gift.
If you’re not in a position to invest at the moment, but would love to be apart of giving back, please message me and nominate an essential worker that you’d like to see receive a complimentary family photo session.
A little history about Puddicombe House...
Built in 1868, in the elegant Italianate architectural style, it first served as the home of Samuel Merner, a prominent New Hamburg businessman and politician. Merner spared no expense in construction or decorative details of his grand house. Located on Peel Street in the central downtown of the town, the exterior boasted characteristic Italianate gables, gracious porches and heavily ornamented windows. The interior competed favourably with the exterior in elegance. Twelve foot ceilings, ornamented bay windows and burnished wooden floors lend an air of grandeur to Puddicombe.

I am so happy to share with you that for the first time, I have a guest writing this blog post. I think it is a very topical conversation. Alison is not only a client, but also a friend of mine. We also attend the same church , Forward Church Kitchener. Alison recently was interviewed for an article for a local newspaper, Waterloo Region Record. This is a short and sweet post that reflects not only the anxiety felt by her but also the faith that sustains her. This post is for all of those pregnant moms and moms-to-be.

Once a client books a lifestyle newborn session with me, one of the first question I often get asked is “When is the best time or age for our session?”. The timeline can be a little bit flexible. Keep reading as I answer this question and explain a bit behind my thinking.
One of the hottest trends the last couple of years is having one or more wedding #hashtaga. These #hashtags can then be used by guests when they are posting photos on social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram. Headshots are not just for the CEO of a big business. Its almost a must need for any professional.
The saying “Never judge a book by its cover”, while charming, isn’t entirely plausible in the real world. The reality is that we are all judged, or perceived, by the way we look. And, particularly when it comes to professional situations—job interviews, making connections, meeting clients, networking—we have a short amount of time to make a good first impression.
That’s why it’s incredibly important to always appear professional, both in-person and online. And while most professionals understand the importance of business professional attire in-person, far too many fail to exude that same professionalism online—the very first place (or next place) most professional contacts will see you!
Below we discuss 5 ways a professional headshot can be advantageous to your career and put you on the launchpad to success.
Tying the knot is one of the most exciting and life-changing decisions that you will ever make. You want the ceremony to be as special and memorable as possible. One of the most important decisions that you will be making is choosing who and how your wedding day will be captured. The person who will capture the moments you will cherish for a lifetime. Maybe you could ask your cousin or your uncle who are amateur photographers. They will probably do it for free, and you could save yourself some money. Why is this not a good idea? Why do you want to hire a professional wedding photographer for your wedding day? There is an enormous benefit to having a professional photographer to capture your wedding and these benefits far outweigh whatever it is that you will save by having your cousin or uncle photograph it for free. Weddings are such a whirlwind of excitement and activity, you need somebody that will be able to capture your memories in the best way possible.

Christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year! And Christmas Mini Sessions are always so much fun and they some of my favourite mini sessions to do. I am so fortunate to always sell out so fast for my dates! In 2019, I partnered with Benjamin Tree Farm outside Waterloo and Evergreen Christmas Tree Farm outside Guelph to host some awesome Christmas Tree Mini Sessions. In 2020, I partnered with Evergreen Tree Farm just outside Guelph and Primula - Bakker Lane Farms just outside Drumbo. I typically host these sessions in November, so that I have enough time to edit the photos but also so that people have time to send out Christmas cards to family and friends or use the photos in another before Christmas. Another couple of reasons are that the tree farms are usually not as busy yet and usually the temperatures are not as cold yet (not always true lol). Keep reading to find out the best ways that you can prepare for your Christmas Mini Sessions with Photography From The Soul.
