What is One-For-One Essential Worker Gratitude Session ?

Inspired by Anastasia Chomlack (check out her Instagram,  Facebook,  or Website)
Every 1- Hour Family Session booked between now and April 30th will purchase an additional photo session for an essential front line worker of your choice and their family.
If you are just interested in purchasing a 1-Hour Family Session to donate to a front line worker, you can do that too! This also works if you do not know who to donate the complimentary photo session too, I can find a front worker who would be very appreciative of this gift.
If you’re not in a position to invest at the moment, but would love to be apart of giving back, please message me and nominate an essential worker that you’d like to see receive a complimentary family photo session.

Why am I doing this?

Picture
This is an X-ray of my husband hand on March 29,2017. I remember the day because it was the day before our son's first birthday. (I am not going to lie, I probably spent more than I should have, but he is our first son, and it was his first birthday.) Anyway, my husband had to have surgery and had parts of three of his fingers amputated. Although today you would know the difference (unless he tries to do the piece sign) he had a long recovery, without work. I  was due to go back to work for a few more weeks, plus it wasn't like my husband could look after a 1 year old, let alone change a diaper with one hand. It was a tough few months for all of us.
During this time, my husband was contacted by a co-worker, my husband worked at St. Mary's Hospital at the time. She wanted to give him a get well card. We ended up meeting up on a Thursday. (I should let you know that at the time, we had negative money in our bank account, and our mortgage payment of $1545 was due that Friday). We had contacted the bank, but they said it would take up to a month for disability insurance to pay the mortgage and we had received nothing from EI) When he was given the envelope,  he was speechless, because along with the get well card was a bag of money that his co-worker at St. Mary's Hospital had collected, it totalled just over $1600. We had been praying about that for a couple of weeks as we knew it was coming up. His co-workers, were our answer to prayer, they were are miracle. They still are miracle workers. During this pandemic, essential workers (like those who work St. Mary's Hospital) are out there doing their job, enabling us to stay safe in our homes.
They are true heroes in my books.

I know that as a photographer there is little I can do to stop the spread of this pandemic (other than staying home and washing my hands and phone ALOT) I feel like is one way that I can give back to those essential workers who give so much and risk so much for those who,in most cases, are complete strangers.

Who can I gift the session too?

I am not really going to be defining this for you. I want to be outrageously generous in this time and to give freely! If you are recommending someone there must be a reason for you to do it. I Trust you to do this in good faith. Like I stated above, an essential worker is anyone who is working right now enabling you and I to be stay safe in our homes. This could be hospital staff and doctors, postal carriers and delivery people, grocery store employees, cleaners, nursing home staff etc.
Essential definition

When can the gifted session be used?

This gift certificates will start to be valid once physical social distancing guidelines have been lifted by the government (stay tuned to my website, Facebook and Instagram for updates) and will be good until August 31st, 2021. This will give everybody ample opportunity to use the gift certificates without having to rush. Especially good if you want pictures taken in a specific time of the year.
